Start a business post-layoff: Pink Slip Lemonade or lunacy?
I did it. So have plenty of others. Should you??
“It” is start a business after being laid off. And the answer is a definite “it depends.” If you’ve been thinking about and planning for this for some time, maybe the layoff was just the push you needed to find the courage to make a go of it. On the other hand, if this is more of a knee-jerk reaction — which would certainly be understandable — it might be a good way to go broke, and contribute to SCORE’s dreary stats about start-up business failures.
